Sehr interessantes Patent von Apple über die Verwendung von Augmented Reality in der Frontscheibe.

Apple has filed a patent for an augmented reality (AR) -powered windshield system that many in the crossover between auto and gaming technology will see as a game-changer.
According to Patently Apple, the company filed the patent application with the European Commission covering, among other things, graphical overlays to communicate information about an autonomous car’s surroundings and other vehicles on the road to occupants. It claims to be able to do this by providing a 3D representation of the vehicle’s speed using spatial positioning to show the difference between its speed and the local speed limit. It will not just do this on the windshield but also on all the car’s other transparent surfaces.
The heads up-display (HUD) is also designed to monitor passengers’ stress levels by processing data on their eye motion, body posture, body gestures, body temperature and a number of other factors. It then matches the passengers’ data to previous levels it has recorded associated with them. It also aims to allow occupants of autonomous vehicles to communicate with each other via FaceTime.
The patent says: “In some embodiments, an augmented reality display system included in a vehicle enables visual communication between an occupant of the vehicle and a remotely located user, including an occupant of a separate vehicle”.
